About Role:  

 As a Technology Architect Specialist for Platform Services, you will be a senior member of the team responsible for delivering DB Architecture & Engineering capabilities across our Consumer Healthcare Business. The role has a truly global scope and is accountable for the effective, reliable, and efficient delivery and operation of a selection of systems and tools.  

You will be responsible for technology strategy, and architecture and high-level design across a portfolio of Database systems and tools, inc new technologies onboarding, design, automation, etc.  

Develop and own product strategy and roadmaps for all enterprise DB service offerings  

Work with Managed Service Providers who provide day to day operational support to ensure KPIs, best in class monitoring and alerting capability exists12+ years of experience in systems management/Infrastructure Engineering environment. 8 years in management in Enterprise Technology, Infrastructure, Hosting, and shared technology services.  

Experience with public cloud; design and implementation of Landing Zones, automation & security across IaaS and PaaS architypes  

The role requires interacting with various stakeholders across the tech teams in all the business units to understand their technology needs in the Infrastructure & Database areas and provide the better technology solutions. Also, define the roadmap for DB technology, conduct PoCs, onboard new technologies, optimization of cost by automation, licenses, service improvements, etc.,  

  

Key responsibilities  

  

  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment and management of database services utilizing Azure & GCP cloud Platforms (IaaS and PaaS) as well as on-prem hosted DB’s  

  • Working closely with our internal customers to develop and maintain well architected cloud and on-prem services and design patterns, collaborate with application development teams to drive the implementation of solutions to support the Cloud Operations and on-prem/edge vision and strategy  

  • Leads the strategy of standardized database offerings to facilitate 

  • Own and oversee the engineering of infrastructure-as-code platform products, to enable the building blocks for internal colleagues to build and develop on, and enable re-use  

  • Leads on project work streams and product development and help shape operations requirements and patterns if they differ from existing standards  

  • Lead the implementation and provision of disaster recovery design patterns and solutions. 

 

Minimum Experience:  

 

  

  • 14+ years of experience in systems management/Infrastructure Engineering environment. 8 years in management in Enterprise Technology, Infrastructure, Hosting, and shared technology services.  

  • Experience with public cloud; design and implementation of Landing Zones, automation & security across IaaS and PaaS architypes   

  • Day to day management of highly complex distributed global systems.

  • Data and evidence-based approach to decision making with a creative and driven approach to problem-solving. 

  

Technology Stacks:  

  • Handled multiple Cloud Environments for Database Migrations for Oracle/MySQL/Postgres Databases.  

  • Used Managed Services of Azure cloud. 

  • Experience on NOSQL & Oracle Databases (8i,9i,10g,11g,12c,18c, 19c) environments on technologies using ASM,RAC,OEM,RMAN,Data Guard,MySQL (5.x, 8.0), Vertica (7.x,8.x,9.x) MongoDB (2.x,3,x, 4.x), Cassandra, MariaDB, PostgreSQL (9.x,12.x). 

  • AWS/GCP/OCI/Azure Cloud databases running on multiple flavours of Unix and Linux Operating Systems. 

 

Preferred Experience:  

 Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders, able to influence and guide with the right technology choices, negotiation skills with technology vendors.  

 Minimum Education:   

 Computational Engineering or a similar scientific/ engineering discipline.  

 Preferred Education:  

 Computational Engineering or a similar scientific/ engineering discipline/Masters .
