Experience :-

Minimum 15+ years of sales experience in the aggregate, cement, RMC, building materials, or construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Job Summary :-

The General Manager – Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth and market share across India for the company’s aggregates and construction material products. This role will lead a nationwide sales team, focusing on expanding the customer base, maximizing profitability, and strengthening relationships within the construction, infrastructure, Ready Mix Concrete, Rand real estate sectors.

Key Responsibilities :-

1. Sales Strategy & Planning –

– Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market penetration and meet revenue targets across all regions in India.
– Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor activities to drive informed decision-making.
– Collaborate with the executive team to set sales targets, budgets, and forecasts.
– Deciding & monitoring sales pricing, commissions, payment terms etc.

2. Team Leadership & Management –

– Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team, setting KPIs and sales targets for each region.
– Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure continuous learning and development.
– Foster a collaborative and competitive team culture that encourages goal achievement and high performance.

3. Market Development & Customer Relationships –

– Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, distributors, and other stakeholders in the construction and infrastructure industry.
– Identify new business opportunities, including expanding partnerships, enhancing customer service, and developing customized solutions.
– Regularly meet with key clients and conduct client feedback sessions to enhance service levels and customer satisfaction.
– After sales support to customers.
– Improve customer loyalty.

4. Sales Operations & Execution –

– Oversee end-to-end sales processes, including contract negotiations, deal closures, and sales pipeline management.
– Ensure effective coordination between sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations teams for seamless customer service and delivery.
– Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data, and provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.

5. Product Knowledge & Brand Positioning –

– Maintain a deep understanding of product offerings, features, and competitive advantages.
– Work with the marketing team to create product awareness, brand positioning, and promotional activities tailored to different regions.
– Participate in industry events, seminars, and conferences to represent the company and enhance brand visibility.
– Proposals on new products introductions.

6. Competitor Activity –

– Identifies the source of competitive supply into the various operating zones/States.
– Understands and communicates the quality of products, services, and resources employed by relevant key competitors.
– Continuously monitors competitor activity, price levels, communicates and recommends any necessary actions.
– Benchmarking of our pricing , quality, market share & services.

7. Financial & Budget Management –

– Manage the sales budget, optimize spending, and ensure a high return on investment.
– Track sales revenue, profitability, and cost-to-serve metrics to maximize financial performance.
– Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to the executive team.

8. Compliance and Reporting –

– Ensure that all sales practices and operations comply with company policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations.
– Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring transparency and accountability.
– Provide timely updates and reports to senior leadership, addressing key performance metrics, achievements, and areas requiring attention.

9 . Internal Relationship Management – Internal business heads , commercial functions , DCL etc.

10. Technology upgradation –

– Implementation of internal sales processes
– Monitoring the performance of sales force

Qualifications :-

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Civil Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred)

– Strong leadership and team management skills.
– Excellent strategic planning, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
– Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
– Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office suite.
