We are seeking a meticulous Finance Controllership – Assistant Manager to oversee our inventory accounting and management functions.

Job Summary: The Finance Inventory Controllership – Assistant Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory records. This role includes overseeing physical verification, managing inventory flow, driving monthly reconciliations, and validating vendor/ customer returns. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing inventory across various categories and locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Accounting:

– Maintain precise records of inventory transactions and balances.
– Reconcile inventory records with physical counts to ensure accuracy.
– Monitor and analyze inventory movements to detect discrepancies or issues.

Physical Verification:

– Supervise regular physical verification of inventory to ensure consistency.
– Investigate and resolve any variations between physical counts and recorded data.
– Implement procedures for accurate inventory tracking and reporting.

Inventory Management:

– Oversee and manage inventory flow into and out of the warehouse.
– Categorize inventory and maintain aging buckets to effectively manage stock levels.
– Analyze inventory data to optimize stock levels and mitigate excess or obsolete inventory.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

– Lead monthly reconciliations of in-transit stock and stock at various locations.
– Prepare and present detailed inventory reports and analysis to senior management.
– Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting related to inventory.

Vendor Returns:

– Validate and reconcile all vendor-related returns and ensure correct accounting.
– Collaborate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.

Exception Reports tracking and solution:

– Create and Monitor Inventory exception reports with Tech teams
– Tracking exception reports and follow-up towards closure
– Drive all exceptions towards minimal count

Compliance and Controls:

– Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards related to inventory management.
– Develop and monitor internal controls to protect inventory assets.

Continuous Improvement:

– Identify and propose process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
– Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in inventory management.

Qualifications:

– CA Intermediate/ Chartered Account/ MBA (Finance).
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory accounting and management in a retail/consumer industry
– Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and practices.
– Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
– Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

– CA with 2 years of experience
– Experience with advanced inventory management systems and tools.
– Knowledge of fashion and jewellery industry inventory practices is advantageous.
