TITLE:
Associate Manager HR
FUNCTION:
HR
JOB
PURPOSE:
To initiate
and sustain HR initiatives and ensure systematic implementation of ER strategy
in the factory to leverage human resources for higher people productivity,
greater quality and cost consciousness, and harmonious industrial relations.
PRINCIPAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· ER
o Sustain
positive relation with employees
o Solicit
active support of employees in launching new initiatives in the area of Employee Welfare
o Addressing
Departmental ER issues (Canteen, Ambulance Room)
o Initiate
cost effective measures in the area of Employee Welfare
o Answering
to specific queries from the employees in the relevant area
o
o Allocation
of contract labour – jobwise & shiftwise
o Negotiating
with the user departments regarding requirement of CL
· TIME AND ATTENDANCE MONITORING:
o Ensuring availability of Shift Schedule
o Coordination
with the Time keepers
o Ensuring
compliance to the working hours / weekly day of rest etc.
· STATUTORY COMPLIANCE
o Meeting
the stat authorities as per the T&RA Matrix
o Develop
an excellent relationship with the authorities
o Notification
to employment exchange regarding the vacancies.
o Preparation
& filing of returns within the stipulated timeframe & maintain a
checklist for the same
o Monitor
the stat provisions w.r.t. working hours, overtime, weekly holiday,
compensatory holiday, leave with wages, rate of overtime wages
o
o Engagement
of apprentices as per quota
o Guide
& assist the Enquiry Officer & the Management Representative in course
of any disciplinary proceedings – ensuring that the proceedings are as per
legal framework
o Handle
Inspections by stat authorities
o Ensure
adherence to all stat provisions pertaining to engagement of new contractor
o Monitor
working hours, overtime, spread-over, weekly -off, leave with wages, P.F. &
ESI coverage, Payment of wages, Minimum wages of the contract labour engaged
o Regular
monitoring & control of the no. of contract laborers engaged w.r.t. the
registration certificate of the PE
o
· LEGAL
o Sharing
legal updates with the other Managers of the unit
o Seek
opinion from lawyers on various legal issues
o Ensure
renewal of individual license of the electricians
o Tie-ups
with nursing homes & hospitals, periodic visit to such nursing homes &
hospitals
o Ensuring timely payment of the terminal benefits in case of
separations
o
o Administration
of the employee welfare amenities provided under the law like Wash Room /
Change rooms etc.
· TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
o Coordinating for training programs
o Organise refresher training programmes for the FLTOs
o Educate
Managers, new entrants & vendors about statutory provisions relevant to
their area
· COST MANAGEMENT
o Providing
the labour cost element during AMC revisions & negotiating with the vendors
o Monitor
the spendings on routine basis wrt HR activities
o Prepare
monthly budget variance report
· RECRUITMENT
o Contacting Employment exchange / other placement agencies /
Institutes for recruitment
o Processing and shortlisting of applications
o Issuing call letters, organising the written test and interviews
o Organising the medical test / antecedent verification for the
shortlisted candidates
o Issue of final appointment letters
o Ensure the joining formalities
· KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
o Keep
track on the IR development in the neighbouring industries
KNOWLEDGE
AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Concepts, theories &
practices in ER
· Understand employees philosophies, their vital issues, shop floor
alliances
· Understand history of the
place/ dept/ sensitive issues
· Understanding of various clauses of Contract
Labour Act, Rules & case laws
· Knowledge of FSO, domestic enquiry procedures
· Knowledge
of the HR systems and processes and its impact
·
· Ability to update on a continuous basis any
relevant changes in labour related statutory compliances
· Ability to build relationships with local it is
& other such bodies
· Knowledge of recruitment procedures
· Understanding of the logics and indepth
understanding of the expenses

PREVIOUS
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years experience in a
manufacturing unit with unionized work force.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Recognized degree in Personnel Management
or IR
