Position Overview:
Summary:
Join Evernorth’s Cloud patterns team in the software engineering excellent organization as a Full Stack Engineer. The team builds AWS patterns – fully architected, built and tested repeatable processes and templates. A pattern gives ready to use, tried and tested Infrastructure-as-code libraries (TF scripts), IAM policies, ci/cd config and step by step implementation guide. They enable faster time to market within guardrails of well architecture and cloud CoE practices as well as Fedramp compliance. Applications teams use these patterns for either migrate to AWS or for green field development on AWS. A typical day for cloud engineers may be dedicated to one of the following activities- identifying patterns, building a pattern, consultation problem statement, evolution of the patterns or support to application teams in adoption of a pattern. The team closely partners with cloud Coe, Enterprise architect, EKS platform teams, Enterprise DevOps, DBAs, Information protection organization and so on.
Job Description:
As a cloud engineer, the candidate will mainly focus on mastering existing patterns and helping application teams adopt these patterns during their journey to AWS. You will work with a highly Agile team to develop, execute, validate and maintain AWS patterns. The candidate must be passionate about cloud and is always looking to further their personal knowledge and expertise. The candidate is comfortable executing against tasks that are occasionally ambiguous but works independently to seek out the needed information and is not the type to wait for others to tell them “what to do next”, but who proactively looks to fill their work queue.
The ideal team member will be creative, responsive, flexible, and willing to participate in an open collaborative peer environment. The candidate enjoys working in a team of high performers, who hold each other accountable to perform to their very best and does not shy away from opportunities to provide and take feedback with team members. The candidate works towards delivering a Minimal Viable Product with proper testing, avoids scope creep, and follows Software Engineering practices as defined by Evernorth Standards. The candidate is expected to actively participate in all ceremonies like Daily Stand-ups, Grooming, review user stories & Team retrospectives.

Implements organization’s cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance and support of cloud architecture.
Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization’s existing IT infrastructure.
May work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions.
Responsibilities:
As a cloud engineer you will;
Design and hands-on development of robust solutions to hard problems considering scale, security, reliability, performance, operational excellence and cost.
Supports other product delivery partners in the successful build, test, and release of solutions.
Works with distributed requirements and technical stakeholders to complete shared design and development.
Supports the full software lifecycle of design, development, testing, and support for technical delivery.
Actively participate in agile ceremonies
Work with the team to understand the business value and break down the feature as stories
Reviews user story / requirements to identify ambiguities
Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively for your audience.
Collaborate across teams and departments to help to create best practices
Identify risks and help mitigateAbility to design with ambiguous requirements
Guide and mentor team members on all aspects of software engineering
Ability to drive innovation in the organization
Ability to make presentations on software technologies, frameworks, and patterns to the organization
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
in depth Terraform knowledge
Comfortable with using Docker, quay and Kubernetes, ArgoCD
Working knowledge of AWS Services: S3, Cloudfront, EKS, Aurora, postgres, MongoDB, AWS Networking
Teach to fish not fish for the app teams, thus help enable Day 2 app management on AWS
Spring boot is a plus

Strong experience in developing and integrating RESTful web-services
Experience with build and deployment tools, e.g., Git, Jenkins etc
Automation driven Mindset to improve maintainability and testability
Document design and solution to provide clarity.
Cigna specific tooling like below is a plus – RAAS, CCOE P2P processes, CNP, Dev tooling expertise, Onboarding activities for teams like kick off and workshops, understanding of firewalls and ability to troubleshoot – familiarity with CCA / TSE / Firewalls, Familiar to Service Now
Required Experience & Education:
10+ years of experience
AWS Architect associate or higher
Desired Experience:
Hashicorp Terraform cert is a big plus
DevOps and Finops
