Job Description

As the GM of Animal Feed and Nutrition business, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the division’s operations, driving business growth and ensuring profitability. You will lead a dedicated team, develop strategic initiatives, and manage relationships with key stakeholders in the industry. Your role will be pivotal in shaping company’s vision and objectives within the Animal Feed and Nutrition market. This role will be responsible for the entire P&L of animal feed and nutrition business

  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the Animal Feed and Nutrition segment.
  • Develop and execute division short term and long term goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players, including distributors, veterinarians, feed manufacturers, and large farms to drive business.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee all operations of animal feed and nutrition business including production, sourcing, quality control and supply chain management.
  • Ensure effective manufacturing process adhering to relevant industry standard and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to align products with market needs.
  • Implement robust quality assurance measures to deliver high-quality products.
  • Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the business, monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.
  • Analyse financial reports, identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to maximise profitability and reduce costs.
  • Drive revenue growth through pricing strategies, product positioning and effective sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Build and lead a high performing team, provide clear direction, coaching and mentoring to maximise individual and collective performance
  • Organize training sessions to enhance the team’s knowledge of animal feed and nutrition products and sales techniques.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated with local and international regulations, standards and industry best practices related to Animal feed and nutrition.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, licences permits and certifications.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities to maintain a strong reputation for compliance and responsible business practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, or related fields. MBA or equivalent in Sales/Marketing is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years in sales/business development, with at least 5 years in the Animal Nutrition sector.
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets and expanding market presence.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies and plans.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience of managing team.
  • Exceptional communication skills to build relationships at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of financial management principles and experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for business needs.
