Job Description
The Payroll Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations, oversight and governance of globalpayroll and employment tax portfolio within the Global Payroll organization. This role will beresponsible for leading and fostering proactive collaboration with customers and key internal andexternal business partners while driving operational excellence throughout the service delivery model.The leader for this role must demonstrate and have a proven track record for pre and post payrollaudits and reviews that lead to accurate and compliant employment tax operations. Strongbackground with and working knowledge of labour and employment tax regulations and applicable end-to-end activities encompassing payroll operations.Must be able to work through ambiguity, be self-motivated with the ability to piece together facts and data necessary to identify issues, propose resolutions, make decisions and operationalize necessary change to improve operations and service delivery. This leader must have a strong end-to-end mindset and understanding of all payroll operations, including the up and downstream impacts on payroll and employment tax operations. A focus on continuous process improvement, through SOPs, systems, integrations, etc. is key to ensuring our tax operations remain cutting edge while our service deliver continues to delight our customers.To be successful in this role, the Payroll Manager must be a subject matter expert on wage and hour laws, payroll processing and associated compliance/regulations, Federal and State Tax legislation and regulations, with the ability to handle a complex payroll operation timely and accurately. This individual must be an independent thinker with the ability to work with little day-to-day direction while providing leadership, guidance and oversight to payroll staff and internal partners regarding payroll, employment tax actions, policies, and procedures; Execute, in accordance with globally established standards, processes for SOX compliance, internal controls, and required regulatory/statutory requirements (including payroll record data maintenance).Key Responsibilities Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field or equivalentexperience of 10 or more years of global payroll experience and with experience on metricsreporting, process improvement and project management. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) desirable Minimum 6 year of people management experiences, handling 3 or more direct reports. Has above average and updated knowledge in local labor laws Proven track record of strong stakeholders’ management, including cross region or remoterelationships. Strong in vendor management, with experience in handling contractual discussion and servicelevel agreements. Effective in verbal and written communications, with a good customer service mindset andinterpersonal skills Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word Meticulous with strong analytical, organization and planning skills, extreme attention to detailand a self-motivated individual Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects to timely completion, andmanage many detailed tasks. Must be comfortable working in a matrixed, fast paced, hands-on, growth-oriented workenvironment with tight timelines.Educational QualificationsRequired Education Qualification: CARequired Experience: 10 14 years
