Position: Area Sales Manager Ophthal

Job Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Duties and Responsibilities

Area Sales Manager is tasked with achieving business goals outlined during the creation of business and marketing strategies.

• Actively initiate and conduct sales calls to attract new prospects.
• Collaborate with Corporate Marketing to design and implement strategies focused on business growth.
• Maintain communication with existing key customers to ensure alignment on performance growth expectations.
• Identify and participate in conferences and industry events to stay updated on market trends, identify new business opportunities, and promote the company’s comprehensive solutions.

Strategy Planning / Market Development

• Develop and implement action plans and strategies to meet set targets.
• Prepare presentations, proposals, quotes, and sales contracts.
• Create and update sales materials and maintain up-to-date knowledge of products.

Regular and Irregular Reporting

• Compile various reports on activities, closings, follow-ups, etc.
• Share insights on new product opportunities, updates, and customer feedback with the RSM/Sales Head/Marketing Head.

Expense Control

• Monitor and manage expenses to adhere to the budget, under the close supervision of the immediate supervisor.

Budget Planning

• Plan sales and expense budgets on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis with oversight from senior management.

Additional Responsibilities

• Follow up on payment collections and ensure payments are made within the specified credit terms.
• Coordinate product delivery schedules and shipments.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Experience

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in sales within the ophthalmology field in the assigned area.
• In-depth understanding of business practices in the intraocular lens (IOL) sector.
