As a Product Manager at PhonePe, you will own and drive the roadmap for our platform and user centric products. You will work with other pod members and a diverse set of stakeholders towards a collective set of objectives. We work on complex technology, scale while iterating quickly and have a bias for impact in everything we do.
About The Team
PhonePe Merchant
PhonePe Merchant is a business unit within PhonePe. Over the last 5 years, PhonePe Merchant has become a platform of choice for both offline and online merchants in our country. Our merchants come in different sizes , starting from your neighborhood kirana store to large enterprise conglomerates who have multiple business lines and online businesses as well.
On the product side, the team has built out a complete end to end merchant suite of products that include merchant onboarding and KYC, payment enablement using QR, payment devices like smart speakers, POS and online payment gateway etc and one of largest daily merchant settlement platforms in the country. We build for merchants of all sizes across the length and breadth of the country. We have a large offline distribution network of FOS using which we reach the merchants apart from online channels like PhonePe Business app and web.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Merchant Lifecycle product manager
Identify holistic problem statements in end to end lifecycle of merchants like onboarding, KYC, merchant classification, de-boarding and various merchant states and distill it into meaningful scope of problems for technology to solve at scale
Write detailed product specifications that allow for prioritization and efficient development including use cases and mocks.
Craft product objectives at a feature and draft a solid, quarterly product roadmap
Evangelize and influence stakeholders on priority and impact using strong data points
Identify and resolve blockers by negotiating with the right owners and stakeholders
Drive communication and product cadences across cross-functional teams
Have a point of view on aspects of product operations, design and marketability
What we look for:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2-5 years of experience in Product / Platform building of consumer/merchant onboarding and lifecycle management in a Fintech domain
Someone who can understand the nuances of user behavior in an onboarding funnel and optimizes for conversion while meeting the compliance and regulatory requirements
Someone who has experience of the working with fintech regulations in India and has worked with teams which undergo internal and external audits is a plus
Analytical and data driven with the ability to to derive action and make decisions based on large data sets.
Is a problem solver and has bias for impact.
Comfortable with complex technology, analytics and operating models
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders both internal teams and external vendor partners
Proactive in seeking inputs, feedback and looping it back into the product roadmap
