Job Overview

Podar Education Network is seeking a Junior School Nurse to join our team in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have 1 to 3 years of work experience and be responsible for ensuring the physical health and emotional support of students, contributing to their well-being and academic success.

Qualifications and Skills

• Pediatric Nursing (Mandatory skill): Required for providing age-appropriate health care to students efficiently and effectively.
• Health Assessment (Mandatory skill): Essential for evaluating the physical condition of students and identifying health issues.
• Emergency Response (Mandatory skill): Crucial for handling urgent medical situations promptly and efficiently within the school environment.
• Health Education: Necessary for educating students and faculty about health topics and promoting wellness.
• Medication Administration: Ability to manage and dispense medications to students as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Patient Advocacy: Key in standing up for the best interests of students’ health and wellness needs within the school.
• Communication Skills: Important for effectively interacting with students, parents, faculty, and healthcare professionals.
• Empathy: Needed to provide compassionate care and understanding to support the emotional and physical well-being of students.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide basic healthcare services to students, including first aid and emergency care when necessary.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings to maintain the health records of students.
• Develop and implement student health plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and school staff.
• Administer medications and treatments prescribed by healthcare providers in a timely and compliant manner.
• Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics, promoting a healthy school environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student health concerns and necessary interventions.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, protocols, and school policies.
• Advocate for the needs and well-being of students, escalating concerns as necessary to healthcare providers or administrators.
