Software Engineering Manager (Shared Services)

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a leader that will be responsible for leading a shared services and engineering organization within Provider Technology in our Hyderabad Center to deliver on strategic business capabilities as well as modernize the current solution. This role will be responsible for production support, quality engineering and scrum master practices in the HIH Center for Provider Technology. You will work in an agile environment leading a team of software engineers and managers, delivering user-oriented products in a fast–paced environment. The resources aligned to this leader will dotted-line into our US based shared services leads. This role will report to the Provider Technology HIH – Associate Director.

Responsibilities:
Establish / oversee engineering principles/standards for quality engineering and production support organizations that promote reusability, reliability, and telemetry for in scope applications.
Establish and maintain product/asset roadmaps for quality engineering and production support toolsets with a focus on technology currency, environment simplification, business value, and return on investment.
Establish and maintain relationships with internal Provider Technology customers.
Develop and manage team labor strategy:
Hire and retain strong talent.
Develop existing talent into full stack engineers.
Inspire engineering teams to take risks and manage them.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Understand Cigna’s strategic and competitive position striving to tie team efforts to the same.
Provide direction regarding technical requirements.
Find opportunities to drive modernization and scalability of tools, technologies, and techniques.
Enforce modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test-driven development.
Responsible for the agile operational excellence of their team members.
Responsible for identifying, hiring and developing scrum master talent; helping them develop and become full members of the Scrum Master Center of Practice.
Ensure that scrum masters follow best practices in accordance with established roles & responsibilities.

Required Experience & Education:
12+ years of professional experience.
4+ years of management experience.
Hands on experience engineering/developing modern on-prem/cloud solutions.
Familiarity with modern and legacy development languages.
Experience with on-prem and/or cloud platform solutions.
Experience with CI/CD tooling.
Experience with Agile.
