About the role

This Solution Architect role is part of the central architecture team which is made up of Enterprise and Solution Architectures with a remit to bring perspective from the whole technology estate to our initiatives and design for the long-term delivery of the Haleon strategy.  They will draw upon their broad knowledge of technologies to deliver new solutions, refine existing ones and look for areas of duplication and simplification.

This insight will see them take responsibility for short, medium and long-term strategy in their specialism, assessing requirements from the business and drawing on expertise in the team and wider organisation to deliver stable, strategic transformation.   They will be at the fulcrum of driving improved business outcomes and will be expected to contribute individually and as a key component of multi-disciplinary teams.

Solution architecture requires both technical and interpersonal skills to design, describe, and manage technology domains and how they interact with one another. Successful solution architects evaluate the existing environment and examine how different future demand is best resolved with existing solutions and where additional investment should take place.

The role holder will be based out of our Bangalore Technology Hub in India where part of the wider architecture team is based.  The remainder of the team are UK based and some alignment with UK hours may be required.  As a global business the successful candidate will also need to be flexible to work with teams and projects in global markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITITIES

  • Deep technical and multi-domain knowledge with an eye on future developments and potential adoption within Haleon
  • Accountable for domain specific strategy, including designation of system / solution invest / maintain / divest status and adherence to this status for future development work through the Architectural Review Board
  • Responsible for development of global solution architectural design, collaborating with solution architects, technical domain experts, product experts and directors, as well as business leaders to ensure architectural design is aligned to strategy.
  • Understand potentially complex problems and find all the possible solutions – accurately defining the issue and the requirement.
  • Responsibility to set engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans and coordinate activities across multiple project workstreams.
  • Responsible for delivery of regulatory (SOx/GxP etc.) compliant solutions within Haleon technical control framework and ensuring strategy aligns to regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with enterprise, solution and technical architects, domain experts, product experts, vendors, partners and directors.  Ability to communicate on deep technical and business level and to translate between them for stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

ESSENTIAL

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or demonstrable experience in a similar Technical, Solution or Enterprise Architecture role
  • Track record of experience working with, or in, large enterprises
  • 10+ years of architecture, programming and / or platform & systems engineering
  • 5+ years of managing multi-disciplinary technical teams with a strong track record of driving transformation and business outcomes.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills at all levels to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to think autonomously, articulate their position and adapt to feedback.

PREFFERED

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Functional and technical expert with deep domain and engineering management expertise
  • Experience working in similar industry to Haleon.  Please highlight any particular domain expertise, for example in operational technology, cloud, cyber, identity, infrastructure.
  • Experience of working in a consultancy role or capacity to deliver business outcomes.
